    This week's LatAm funding rounds and acquisitions point to a thesis: capital is flowing to the companies building the distribution rail for SME finance. Asaas is unifying CRM, sales, and financial operations for SMEs into one platform. Skyone is modernizing their cloud infrastructure. Clip is putting a wallet and a full financial services stack in the hands of millions of merchants. These are disparate products with the same target: the small to midsized business that traditional banks priced out & legacy software never fit. SMEs carry the most digital modernization runway b/c they were underserved for so long. The data sat fragmented, credit was not "underwritable," and operations lived in spreadsheets + WhatsApp threads. Every platform consolidating that mess into a single surface is assembling the data layer that finally makes these businesses legible to capital. That legibility changes the unit economics. Once an SME's sales, invoices, cash flows live in 1 system, embedded credit becomes a calculation (default risk gets priced vs estimated). The customer becomes "underwritable," and underwritable customers carry higher lifetime value. This is why the winners in LATAM SME are poised to become the distribution rail for the higher-margin products that follow: lending, yield, cross-border settlement, & working capital that arrives the moment it's needed instead of 6 weeks later. The platform that owns the SME's financial data owns the cross-sell, and the cross-sell (into tokenized products on @avax !) is where the margin lives.
