    Watching the latest World #WLD update, https://t.co/JhF3ZSFwfF I couldn’t help but compare it with the Pi ecosystem. World currently has around 37 million users, and about 17 million of them are verified as real humans. Even so, World says this is only about 1% of their long-term vision. Sam Altman and Alex Blania explain that this first 1% is the hardest part of building a project. It takes the most time, effort, and patience. But once you pass this phase, growth starts to accelerate much faster. This part feels very similar to the Pi Core Team’s stance. Right now, Pi is still focused on KYC, migration, and building the basic foundation of the ecosystem. That process is naturally slow and requires many rounds of trial, error, failure, and revision. But the Core Team has repeatedly hinted that once this phase is complete, progress will begin to move much faster. At the moment, World is still strongly focused on the World App and Proof of Human system. In their recent update, they showed a very strong real‑world example of how human verification can actually be used. One clear example is dating apps. World allows users to prove they are real humans without exposing all of their personal information. Accounts that complete human verification receive a blue “Verified Human” badge. This helps users trust that an account is not fake and not operated by a minor, making online dating much safer and more reliable. Seeing this immediately reminded me of the recent Pi Hackathon winner, the dating app Blind Lounge. #BlindLounge is also trying to solve the same problem: in an environment full of fake accounts, how do we decide which accounts deserve trust? Since Blind Lounge only allows users who have passed Pi Network’s KYC, it provides a clear minimum trust standard for users. As AI and scam technologies continue to evolve, we are entering a world where images, videos, and even voices can be easily copied by AI. In such an environment, trust without human verification becomes increasingly difficult.
