I dont have a problem with defi - I really dont. Thing is...if you made a yield, you lost way more that in value . Not to mention, you jumped thru 10 hoops and loops to get in a position to make it worth it at all, and thats more than most want to deal with. Is what it is. I just point out the facts. 🤷‍♂️

Lido Assesses $21.6M Exposure, Considers Loss Buffer. Lido reported approximately $21.6 million tied to rsETH through its EarnETH product. This exposure originates from leveraged positions on Aave, according to its disclosure on X. The protocol emphasized that the final financial impact remains uncertain and will depend on ongoing coordination between KelpDAO, LayerZero, and Aave. To mitigate potential losses, Lido is considering deploying a $3 million protection buffer from its DAO treasury. Notably, the protocol confirmed that its core assets, stETH and wstETH, remain unaffected by the incident.

Confidence in DeFi is getting shaken harder than ever Kelp DAO hack just hit the market like a reality check, total DeFi TVL dropped ~12% to $86.275B in just 24h. – @LidoFinance: -2.26% – @Aave: -21.54% – @eigencloud: -2.42% – Binance Staked ETH: -2.27% – @Morpho: -7.51% – @ethena: -3.04% – @ether_fi: -3.27% Smart contract bugs and bridge risks are still the biggest weak points in DeFi, even when TVL was pushing close to $90B. Short-term, sentiment is clearly hit hard. But I see this as a needed flush. Weak setups get exposed, stronger protocols double down on security and transparency. Long-term, DeFi still has a solid case thanks to transparency and composability. As long as builders actually learn from this, the space will recover. I expect the next 1-2 weeks to stay rough, but this isn’t the end of DeFi.
