These can still make some money; $100 is still money, though it doesn't match the hundreds of millions or even tens of billions market caps. There are also a few hundred or thousand projects that earn not even a cent, yet they still sit on exchanges, many with FDVs of tens of millions to billions. This is probably the biggest current problem in the space: a growing pile of non‑profitable projects with no users, no revenue, only narratives, stacking up into tens of thousands of tokens on CEX+DEX. Consensus and coordination become increasingly difficult. Back in 2017 exchanges only had a few tokens, even during DeFi Summer there were only a few dozen that could be mentioned, unlike now where you can't even buy them all, truly endless! Any good solution? I can't think of one. Our community doesn't have an SEC or securities regulator to delist non‑compliant “companies/projects”. Relying on Binance/Coinbase to occasionally remove a batch is just “a drop in the bucket”, especially since even if CEX removes them, DEX can still host them. So perhaps the only option is what the “big sister” says – “if you're not bullish, you can short”. Another harsher approach: after each project launches its token, embed a “pseudo‑smart‑contract” with hard‑coded rules where all project revenue goes to a DAO address. After the TGE, say after two years (to allow project development + VC unlock), the hard‑coded contract auto‑executes. It checks the DAO address balance, and if it's below a certain threshold, all tokens are automatically burned, causing the project team and all investors to die together 🤣 Founders and VCs confident in their projects, would you dare do this? 🤪
