“Why does Galactica need both Soul Score and veGNET?”
Simple answer:
Soul Score measures contribution.
veGNET measures commitment.
gUBI uses both. https://t.co/0AkdK45ldA

If rewards were based only on wallet size, whales would dominate.
If rewards were based only on activity, people could spam low-quality actions.
Galactica combines both signals to create a more balanced allocation system.
Soul Score reflects reputation.
It can grow through activity, quests, credentials, and participation inside the Galactica ecosystem.
This is the “show up and contribute” side.
veGNET reflects long-term alignment.
You receive veGNET by locking $GNET.
The longer you lock, the more veGNET you receive.
This is the “commit to the network” side.
Together, they determine UBI Reputation.
In simple terms:
Soul Score = contribution
veGNET = commitment
UBI Reputation = your effective weight for gUBI
That’s the key design idea:
gUBI should not only reward capital.
It should reward citizens who both participate and commit.
Contribution + commitment = stronger reputation.
The bigger idea: veGNET is designed to align governance with long-term belief, active participation, and real skin in the game. It is a system that rewards people who are both committed and present.
1/ What is veGNET?
veGNET stands for Vote-Escrowed GNET. In simple terms: you earn veGNET by locking GNET, and that locked balance determines your voting power and standing in Galactica’s governance.
The core design is meant to reward long-term commitment, I'll explain.

Ever heard of getting rewards just for holding a token longer? 👀
That’s what veGNET from Galactica Network is all about.
