Four days into the "highly anticipated" #Polkadot Hub smart contract launch. In total -- 15 contracts deployed, 37 smart contract transactions. That's IN TOTAL. I risked my job telling their leadership why the whole thing was a strategic mistake. They never listened. The de-funding of @ink_lang is the final nail in the coffin for a once great chain.

Someone DMed me asking: what’s the point of @Polkadot Hub launching Solidity smart contracts? 👀 Their view was: “This isn’t a real advantage, there are already 10,000 EVM chains.” Here’s an answer shared by @alice_und_bob, which I think addresses the question well: Polkadot Hub’s core strength has never been EVM compatibility. The real killer features are its compute scale, data availability, and system-level computation power. EVM compatibility matters as an entry point. It doesn’t change what Polkadot is capable of, it simply makes those capabilities accessible. For the first time, a large number of developers can tap into Polkadot’s power directly through smart contracts. The capabilities were always there. What was missing was a simple interaction layer. 👀 Will cutting DOT’s annual issuance actually move the price? If price could be fixed by supply cuts alone, markets would be easy. Reducing inflation and adjusting the issuance curve matters and the March halving of DOT’s annual issuance is a positive step, but it only solves half the equation. What ultimately drives price is demand: are people willing to buy and use DOT consistently? If price doesn’t move, it’s often not because supply cuts weren’t aggressive enough, but because demand hasn’t been activated. That’s why @paritytech's shift from “tuning parameters” to building real products matters. Whether DOT is: locked up, used for fees, or used as collateral for stablecoins like pUSD, only real usage makes supply cuts meaningful, right? What's your opinion?

Why hasn’t @Polkadot produced breakout products like Hyperliquid or Aster yet? I’m genuinely curious how you think about this.
