Two things matter here. 16 independent node operators validate every transaction, and a separate Risk Management Network halts anything that looks off.
The catch is cost. CCIP runs 3-5x more than LayerZero. Honestly, I'd rather pay than wake up to find user funds gone.

DeFi imo isn't fully settled after April. Liquidity is still constrained across most protocols, and honestly I'm not sure how clean the next month looks.
Probably 1-2 months before things stabilize. Until then, stay conservative.
