BNB Chain Foundation lost approximately 25000u during a buyback due to a swap routing issue.
Today, the BNB Chain Foundation used 25000u for an on-chain buyback of Janitor.
Most of Janitor's liquidity is on Pancake V3, but the swap route went through a small, illiquid pool on Uniswap V4, resulting in 25000u only exchanging for 22,611 Janitor tokens at a high price of $1.1, while the market price was only $0.01, leading to a loss of $24728.
This loss was not due to sandwiching, but a routing bug in the 0x protocol.
