Update on Humanity Protocol, the identity project drained for $36 MILLION last week. The forensic report is in and the token is somehow climbing. The breach traced to one director opening a fake email from "Bithumb." Malware took over his laptop, which happened to hold backups of seven private keys left there during last year's launch. Those keys ran the protocol. The attacker drained 141 MILLION tokens, minted hundreds of MILLIONS more on BNB Chain and sold it all for ETH. Security firm Quantstamp tied the tooling to North Korea, the same group behind the $300 MILLION Kelp DAO hack. The Ethereum side is now frozen and safe. The BNB Chain side is not. The attacker still has admin control there and can still mint new tokens at will. That hasn't been fixed. Despite that, the token tripled off the bottom. $0.07 to $0.22, no good news behind it, just dip buyers catching a falling knife. The bounce has already stalled. The attacker still controls 111 MILLION tokens. A separate 266 MILLION unlock hits June 25. A project that's still half controlled by its attacker, days from a supply dump, trading like the worst is over.
