What will happen to River in the future? Will it keep sinking like this? In the past 2‑3 posts, I have discussed River's direction. Although there is still short-term upside potential (negative funding rate persists), the sole rise of OI (open interest) and future CVD (futures buying pressure) suggests we should beware of large volatility (sharp drops) ahead. For reference, I have not made any profit on either long or short from this analysis (in fact, I have not entered any position). Nevertheless, when someone at this Thursday's Katana meetup said they incurred a large loss on a River short position… I cautiously said, "Now it’s okay to enter a River short position," and gave about a 10‑minute explanation. Now I’ll point out the explanation using indicators (if that person sees this post, it will be easier to understand). 1. When only the futures CVD is rising, the funding rate is negative (especially excessively below -0.5%), and short positions dominate the long/short ratio, it indicates that the big players still have plenty of supply, so you must never take a short. 2. When building a short position against a rapid rise, the following pre‑conditions are required: * Funding rate turns positive * Futures CVD rise is halted (big players stop the game) * Open interest decreases (existing short positions are being cleared) * Long side numbers increase in the long/short ratio (retail traders go long, giving big players something to eat) After mentioning this last Thursday, I was busy with other things and forgot to take a position, so my short‑position profit is zero. Around me, I see many people who, out of a relative sense of loss seeing others make big profits on altcoins like River that experience rapid short‑term spikes, rush to short in order to profit. And most of the time they end up being liquidated or suffering huge losses! ㅠㅠ To prevent this: 1. Do not enter positions out of impatient greed. 2. You need the ability to analyze with a mindset like, “If I were a big player, what would I do?” using futures indicators. 3. And never average‑down (add to a losing position). I think the most important principle of investing/trading is “how not to lose.” This has been my principle that kept me alive in the futures market for three years without being expelled.

Recently I've seen many KOLs flaunt the drop in their OKX wallets, claiming they've lost everything. Or saying they've lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. I beg you to be low-key.
