DeFi has generally failed to properly construct bond-like credit instruments sold to unsuspecting retail.
"Stablecoins" (in the broad, non-payment sense) are credit vehicles.
You're swapping ATM liquid cash for illiquid balance sheet assets with duration.
Credit is by far one of the hardest instruments to explain to retail. The upside is capped, but downsides are the entire book.
I've only tangentially heard of what @Raacfi through their many @leviathan_news appearances, but this is a complete collapse in confidence after the market learned the precious metal assets backing the dollar produt was in-situ gold, which has wildly different credit risk than extracted metal.
