🚀 CRYPTO INNOVATION: 💸 Ledger allows paying gas with tokens @Ledger expands its support for @Celo with the integration of CIP-64, enabling fee abstraction and allowing users to pay gas with any of the 18 native assets of the network, without relying on CELO. This update transforms the experience of over 8 million users, making it easier to use stablecoins and ERC‑20 tokens to settle transactions, a key feature that Celo introduced with the Gingerbread hardfork in July 2023. Ledger's 8M+ users across 200 countries can pay transaction fees using 18 Celo-native currencies, including USDC, WETH, and USD₮. Fee abstraction allows users to settle costs in any supported asset rather than native CELO tokens, lowering friction for onboarding mainstream users to the chain.
