Why we didn’t ask for permission? Kaspa launched as a fair launch in 2021 with no foundation funds and no ecosystem budget. The very idea of permissionless means that anyone can build upon these rails and there are no guards. But teams need capital to build anything meaningful, which is why we approached the Kaspa community to support bringing our design for smart contracts to Kaspa. We came because the design invites independent teams to take risk and push the frontier. That's how open systems evolve: not by consensus committees, but by someone innovating and shipping.
