EGLD / @MultiversX thought: One of the easiest ways to lose perspective is to get too close to something. And I think that has absolutely been true for me with MultiversX. Too close emotionally. Too close psychologically. Too close to every delay, every narrative shift, every chart move, every disappointment, every hope cycle, every sign of progress, every sign of stagnation. When something gets that close to you, you stop seeing it cleanly. You stop reacting like an observer. You start reacting like someone whose time, money, pride, conviction, identity, and public voice have all been tangled up in the outcome. That changes the way you see. And here’s the controversial part: I think a lot of long-term community members in crypto are not actually suffering from a lack of intelligence. They are suffering from overexposure. They know too much. They’ve carried too much. They’ve stared at the same thing for so long that they’ve lost the ability to appreciate what is still there. That’s real. Because when you get too close to something, you don’t just magnify the flaws. You also stop appreciating the value. And I think that’s one of the biggest dangers in this space. You become so familiar with the rough edges that you forget what made the thing special in the first place. You become so conditioned to frustration that progress starts to feel normal, insufficient, or invisible. You become so emotionally fused to the imperfections that you stop seeing the actual signal underneath them. That’s not clarity. That’s distortion. And yes, I think MultiversX is especially vulnerable to this because enough of us have lived through: - major sentiment swings - hard drawdowns - missed expectations - product pivots - internal frustration - long stretches where belief felt expensive (still pending...) But even with all of that, I think it would be unfair - and honestly intellectually lazy - to act like the team has not kept building... Because they have. Progress has continued. Infrastructure has deepened. Products have moved forward. New pieces keep coming together. The surface-level noise does not erase that. And I think that is exactly where the lesson is. If you get too close, you can start seeing only what is missing and lose appreciation for what is actually being built. That does not mean every criticism is invalid. It does not mean people should turn their brains off. It does not mean disappointment is fake. It means perspective matters. For me, that’s the tension. Because the reason I’ve stayed close to MultiversX is not because I think it’s perfect. It’s because I think it is special. And when you believe something is special, you have to be very careful. Because closeness can either deepen your understanding… or distort your vision. I’ve definitely had seasons where it distorted mine. But I think part of maturing in this space is learning to separate: > real signal from accumulated frustration > fair criticism from emotional residue > temporary disappointment from permanent dismissal So yes, I’ll own this: I have let this ecosystem get too close to me at times. But I also think that closeness came from something real. I stayed because I saw something here. And honestly, I still do. The challenge is not pretending I’m detached.
