The main difference lies in how the source of funds is concealed. While the current model mixes each transaction with a limited group of possible inputs, FCMP++ aims to enable cryptographic proofs based on practically the entire set of existing outputs in the Monero blockchain. The goal is not to add a visible feature for the average user, but to strengthen the network’s resistance to chain analysis. With a much larger anonymity set and efficient cryptographic proofs, the upgrade seeks to keep privacy as a central element of the protocol without causing a disproportionate impact on transaction size or fees. The development has already passed testing phases such as stressnet and has received technical audits from specialized firms. However, there are still aspects to complete before a definitive activation on the mainnet, including improvements related to multisig, hardware wallets, and final validations. If implemented as planned, FCMP++ would represent a profound evolution for Monero: not by changing the daily user experience, but by elevating the cryptographic infrastructure that underpins its long‑term privacy proposition.

🚨 HACKER ARRESTED AFTER STEALING $220,000 IN CRYPTOS VIA VIDEO GAMES US authorities have arrested a 21‑year‑old man accused of taking part in a malware campaign spread through video games, which allowed the theft of $220,000 in cryptocurrency from at least 80 wallets. The infected games, distributed on the Steam platform, were downloaded by about 8,000 users. Once installed, they stole credentials and seed phrases in order to empty victims' wallets. The investigation also reveals that the attackers primarily targeted large crypto‑wallet holders and used Monero (monero:native) to try to mask their transactions.
