ICYMI, @base just shipped its second big upgrade: Beryl.

The standout is B20, a native token standard designed to make stablecoin and RWA issuance simpler, cheaper, and more compliance-friendly.

On top of that, it trims standard L1 withdrawals from 7 days down to 5, and refreshes the execution client.

Net effect:

→ Base becomes a true first-class venue for on-chain asset issuance
→ Stronger security posture
→ Better capital efficiency
→ More scalability headroom

Beryl plugs neatly into Base’s (and Coinbase’s) broader march toward real-world assets, equities included, plus basically every other flavor of tokenized value.

@Coinbase just floated plans for fully 1:1 backed tokenized U.S. equities, where users can own, trade, hold, and redeem shares on-chain, with dividends flowing automatically via @CoinbaseMarkets.

That’s exactly the kind of thing B20’s compliance toolkit + native execution is built to unlock, and to do it at scale.

Which makes the obvious question: Are we gonna have $BASE soon? 👀

I've been watching @multiplifi quietly, and this week they landed the signal that actually matters.

→ Coinbase Ventures (@cbventures) invested in Multipli through the Base Ecosystem Fund. A raise is one thing. The people who run the chain backing you is a different tier of validation.

→ The thesis they laid out is the real story: tokenized assets shouldn't just sit in a wallet, they should be usable, liquid and productive. Multipli is building the credit layer that lets institutions and retail borrow against real-world assets onchain.

→ They're already powering this for holding companies and enterprises, reducing the cost of capital for RWA-backed borrowing. That's not a narrative, that's plumbing.

And there's still no token. Building first, launching later is rare, and usually the tell of a team planning to stick around.
