Agentic Commerce is starting NOW, and it’s happening on #Algorand Most people still think AI + crypto means chatbots and token hype. This demo shows something way more important: AI agents that can shop and pay autonomously, end to end. What was shown is basically a blueprint for how commerce changes when you stop clicking buttons and start delegating outcomes. A Shopper Agent acts like the customer. A Merchant Agent acts like the seller. They communicate, coordinate, and complete a purchase flow the way humans do, except it happens autonomously. This is where A2A matters. Agent-to-agent interaction is the real unlock. If agents cannot reliably talk to each other, agentic commerce stays stuck in single-app demos and never scales. This is also where MCP matters. Think of it as a standardized way for agents to use tools and services safely and consistently. Standards are what turn prototypes into ecosystems. Then you hit the hardest part: payments. That is where x402 comes in, embedding payments into the agent flow so “authorization and settlement” is not a separate manual step, but a native part of the experience. And yes, Google is part of the picture here. The point is not the brand name. The point is the direction. When major AI infrastructure players explore agent interoperability and payments, it is a signal that agentic commerce is moving from theory into implementation. Now the key question. Why does it matter that this is on @AlgoFoundation. Because agentic commerce needs settlement that behaves like real-time. Agents will make lots of small decisions and potentially lots of small payments. That only works if finality is fast and fees stay low enough for high-frequency commerce. A2A for agent-to-agent coordination. MCP for standardized tool access. x402 for embedding payments. Algorand for settlement. That combination is not a meme. It is a roadmap. AI plus payments plus blockchain will be one of the strongest narratives of the next cycle. And this is what it looks like when it starts becoming real.
