    Optimism put almost all its eggs in one basket. And got punished. If BASE exits, Optimism could lose 95%+ of its chain revenue. Big concentration risk! Brutal lesson for OP and for every crypto project watching. Simple Lesson Never build your business around one whale. Diversify revenue. Always. . From BASE’s side, it makes sense. Once you’re big enough, why keep paying fees? Better to spend money upfront, build your own stack, and lower costs long term. . A bigger question is : So what's the point of Layer 2s? They seems to be just stepping stones, until teams are big enough to leave?

    Optimism launched at ~$6–7B FDV in a deep bear market. Arbitrum launched at ~$13 15B FDV during recovery. Starknet even pushed ~$30B+ FDV before a full bull run. So market conditions alone don’t determine TGE valuation. What really matters is narrative strength, real user adoption, ecosystem traction, and investor confidence. When a project already has attention, liquidity expectations, and strong positioning, the market can price it aggressively regardless of sentiment. So yes, a project can still launch at a high valuation in a market like this. Plot twist: launching at a high FDV is actually the easy part. Holding dat valuation after TGE is where the real test begins. 👑
