That's why I find STRK20 on Starknet an interesting direction: privacy as part of the existing ecosystem, not a separate destination.

StarkWare launches Private KYC, verifying identity without exposing personal information.

StarkWare has just announced a demo of the Private KYC feature on the Starknet network, allowing users to complete the KYC process without revealing all personal information. Instead of submitting a full passport or address, users only need to prove the required attributes such as being over 18 years old or having valid documents via zero-knowledge proof technology.

Identity data is encrypted and stored in the user's own Starknet wallet, and the verifier only reads the result on-chain without ever seeing the raw data. This approach differs from Sam Altman's World ID in that users retain control over their information instead of handing it to an intermediary.

The context of the product's launch also reflects a concerning reality: in the United States alone, more than 3,300 data breach incidents occurred in 2025, up 79% from five years ago, with an average loss of $4.4 million per incident.
