● [💀] *It was revealed after 7 days that @SecretNetwork suffered a $4.67M Exploit.
The attacker exploited an infinite mint vulnerability in the CW20-ICS20 token contract (secret1yxjm...) and stole $4.67M in assets from @axelar. The related code had been publicly available in an open-source repository since 2023. The root cause was that the code checking token channel binding and sufficient escrowed assets had been commented out and removed, causing SNIP-20 assets to be infinitely minted after only checking a name‑based allow‑list instead. 3 txs including $wETH, $USDT, and $wBTC were bridged to Axelar Network. Afterward, all assets were deposited into @ChangeNOW_io, @kucoincom, and @hitbtc. 7 tokens were affected, including $saUSDT, $saUSDC, $saDAI, $saWETH, and $saWBTC. Could this case be the vulnerability discovered by Mythos (Fable 5)?
