AI Just Fired Thousands From Crypto. Here Is Every Company That Cut Staff and Why Your Job Could Be Next. Crypto industry is facing a massive layoff wave in 2025-2026. And the biggest reason is not the bear market. It is AI. Here Is What Is Happening: 1️⃣ Block (Cash App) - Cut 4,000+ jobs. Down from 10,000 to under 6,000 employees. CEO Jack Dorsey said AI boosted engineer productivity by 40%. 2️⃣ Gemini - Laid off 25% of workforce. Three top executives resigned on the same day. Valuation crashed over 80%. 3️⃣ Messari - Layoffs and full pivot to "AI-first" company. Third round of cuts since 2023. 4️⃣ OP Labs (Optimism) - Cut 20% of staff to streamline operations. 5️⃣ PIP Labs (Story Protocol) - Cut 10% of workforce. Shifting focus to AI agents and AI infrastructure. 6️⃣ Algorand Foundation - Cut 25% of staff citing macro uncertainty and crypto downturn. 7️⃣ https://t.co/RVbQrmE5hM - Cut 12% of workforce. CEO said companies not adopting AI will fail. 8️⃣ Polygon Labs - Laid off 60 staff during restructuring. 9️⃣ Zap Africa - Cut 44% of workforce. Pivoting to AI-driven model. 1️⃣0️⃣ MANTRA - Layoffs tied to restructuring. Out of 45,000+ confirmed tech layoffs in early 2026, around 20% were directly linked to AI. In 2025, that number was less than 8%. The message from every CEO is the same: smaller teams + AI tools = more output than large teams without AI. This is not a temporary phase. This is the new reality of the crypto industry. AI is not coming for jobs. It is already here. Adapt or get replaced.

I don’t know OP so giving him the benefit of the doubt in case my 5am reading comprehension is letting me down once again, but this to me seems like a strawman Because : Well yeah I will hand it to him, using Kelly with fixed parameters is turbo stupid, even more so in crypto. It will lead you to an inevitable account liquidation sooner or later but that doesn’t mean that you can’t or shouldn’t be using Kelly at all (Yes yes nerds that’s assuming variance doesn’t forget you exist, I personally wouldn’t count on it but I am rooting for you…) The fixed Kelly assumptions aka known edge, stable distributions, constant payoffs etc don’t reflect how markets actually behave. Just in case you’re particularly slow, it doesn’t because, well, ain’t nothing is fixed in financial markets, that shit changes all the time. I just know that one of you would’ve asked in the comments so I am sparing you the embarrassment That said, it’s really only a criticism of how donkeys, that don’t know any better, misuse Kelly, r

AI may not take your job now, but it is clearly changing how companies think about people and priorities. @MessariCrypto is the latest example, they just announced a restructuring to become an AI-first company. In this process, they had to lay off analysts and researchers who handled on-chain data and wrote reports. AI can now generate those insights in minutes. Before that, we also saw: + Block Inc. reduced 40% of its workforce + OP Labs cut 20% to refocus strategy + Gemini trimmed 25% of its staff Crypto firms are learning to do more with leaner teams powered by AI. Watch out, you might be next.

Today I’m stepping into the CEO role at Messari. After conversations with Eric and the board, we agreed this is the right step for the company’s next chapter. This transition also includes a difficult decision: we’ve parted ways with many teammates who helped build Messari into what it is today. I’m incredibly grateful for their work and the impact they’ve had on the company. They’re an exceptionally talented group, and I’m eager to help connect them with teams that are hiring. Looking ahead, we’re doubling down on Messari as an AI-first company serving institutions through research and AI products. The industry and the world are changing quickly, but our mission remains the same: helping customers navigate crypto with confidence.

OGAudit Web3 Research Is the OP Stack the blueprint for interoperable Layer-2 chains in the Superchain era, or is L2 competition too intense for any single stack to dominate? @Optimism has been quietly developing one of the leading Ethereum scaling frameworks: - Optimistic rollups deliver low-cost, high-speed transactions with Ethereum security. - OP Stack enables easy chain launches with shared security and cross-chain messaging. - Retroactive public goods funding and decentralized governance via the Optimism Collective. Is this an underrated gem for scalable Ethereum dApps, or does it need more exclusive ecosystems to lead? What's your take on OP in 2026, bullish, neutral or waiting?
