Most traders get rugged because they stare at the 1-minute chart. The chart is just a distraction. It tells you the price, but it does not tell you the pressure.

I check the holders before I even look at the price.

If you are trading without checking the token distribution, you are trading blind. Here is the exact process I use to read the Holders tab on @GeckoTerminal, using solana:EKpQGSJtjMFqKZ9KQanSqYXRcF8fBopzLHYxdM65zcjm as an example.

Rule 1: People see 60 percent Top 10 concentration and immediately close the tab. That is a rookie mistake. A high concentration number means nothing without identity.

If the Top 10 wallets are Binance hot wallets, Uniswap pools, or team vesting contracts, the risk profile is completely different. But if an unlabelled wallet holds 15 percent of the supply? I reject the trade in 10 seconds. You are just volunteering to be their exit liquidity.

Rule 2: GeckoTerminal shows the dev's exact holdings and PnL right under the token name.

I track their timestamps. Did the dev dump everything in the first hour? Red flag. Are they holding a stable position? That shows conviction. Know who is steering the ship before you board.

Rule 3: I scan for Arkham wallet tags. I look for related wallets controlling outsized positions. Stealth allocations look like organic volume on the chart. The Holders tab exposes the reality.

Distribution is a signal. It is not a guarantee. But skipping this check is a guaranteed way to lose your money.
